Official Assessment

Brig. Gen. Riyanto emphasized that each firearm recovered represents a reduction in potential threat to public safety. He said: "Every firearm secured means a reduced potential threat to human safety. Soldiers must remain firm, professional, and measured in carrying out their duties, while prioritizing the protection of the public."

He explained that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to limit the movement of armed separatists and to safeguard civilians in the region. The military said its operations were aimed at allowing residents to carry out their daily activities safely and supporting lasting peace in the area.

The joint team found seven firearms, consisting of two handguns and five long‑barreled firearms, along with ammunition, sighting equipment, binoculars, and other gear. Riyanto noted that the types and conditions of the firearms are still being identified.
