In brief

Air Arabia announced on 12 December 2026 that it would add a second daily flight (G9 951) between Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport and Sharjah International Airport, while keeping its existing G9 806 service. The new flight operates in an Airbus A320neo and offers five hours and 40 minutes of travel time. The expansion is expected to broaden connectivity to destinations in the Maldives, Phuket, Colombo, Bangkok, Jeddah, Medina and Dhaka.

Air Arabia announced on 12 December 2026 that it would add a second daily flight between Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport and Sharjah International Airport, increasing the frequency from one to two flights.

The airline’s new service, designated G9 951, departs at 15:20 Moscow time (14:20 Sharjah time) aboard an Airbus A320neo configured with a single‑class cabin seating 174 passengers. The flight will cover the route in five hours and 40 minutes.

Air Arabia’s existing daily flight, G9 806, will remain at its 22:55 Moscow departure (18:50 Sharjah arrival). This schedule will persist alongside the newly added G9 951 service.

The addition of G9 951 is expected to enhance travel opportunities via Sharjah to a range of destinations in the Maldives, Phuket, Colombo, Bangkok, Jeddah, Medina and Dhaka, according to the airline’s announcement.

In statement released by the press office at Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport, officials explained that the airline’s expansion would provide passengers with more flexibility for onward travel to these cities once they arrive in Sharjah.

While the new flight will add to the limited daily service between Russia and the UAE, travelers may still encounter disruptions on other UAE routes. A recent Gulf News report noted cancellations and delays on Saudi routes, urging travelers to check flight status before heading to the airport.

Air Arabia’s move comes as airlines worldwide adapt to shifting passenger demand and complex route networks. By adding the G9 951 flight, the carrier aims to strengthen its foothold in the Eurasian market while leveraging Sharjah as a strategic global hub.

Passengers booking the new route will experience a standard five‑hour travel time from Domodedovo to Sharjah, after which they can connect to further flights to the mentioned destinations.

The expansion reflects a broader trend among low‑cost carriers to increase route frequencies in key corridors, aligning with regional aviation authorities’ support for enhanced connectivity.
