A Hungarian Wizz Air flight, an Airbus A321 bound for Warsaw, made an unscheduled landing in Vienna on Nov. 5, 2026 after an email containing a vague threat was received. Austrian newspapers Kronen Zeitung and Die Presse reported the incident, noting no injuries were sustained. The diversion was part of a broader bomb‑threat scare that targeted four flights at Vienna Airport, according to Anadolu Ajansı.

An Airbus A321 operated by Hungarian airline Wizz Air made an unscheduled landing at Vienna International Airport on Nov. 5, 2026 after the crew received an email threat while en route from Milan to Warsaw.

According to Xinhua, the email contained a vague threat that prompted the flight to divert to Vienna, where the aircraft landed safely and passengers were disembarked without incident. The Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung reported the same email threat was a factor in the stop‑over.

Die Presse added that following the landing no injuries were reported and the aircraft was cleared to continue its journey once authorities deemed it safe.

Anadolu Ajansı described the event as part of a bomb‑threat scenario that targeted four flights at Vienna Airport, noting that the Wizz Air Airbus A321, originally on the Milan‑to‑Warsaw route, had to make the unscheduled stop due to the threat.

Officials from Vienna Airport said the threat was investigated, but no explosive device was found on the aircraft or the airport premises.

Wizz Air has confirmed that the flight was rerouted to Vienna and that staff and passengers experienced no harm during the diversion.
