Moscow Bomb on Italian Restaurant Leaves Three Dead

A homemade bomb detonated at an Italian restaurant near Moscow’s city centre on Kudrinskaya Square, killing at least three people and injuring 21 others, Russian state media report.

Security officials say the device was attempted to be carried into the restaurant by a woman, who was intercepted by a guard before the explosion. The National Anti‑Terrorist Committee described the incident as a deliberate act of terror, citing the halted entry and subsequent blast.

BBC Russia editor Steve Rosenberg reported from the scene, describing the chaotic atmosphere and the emergency response. He noted that police, fire services and emergency medical teams were mobilised to the site immediately after the blast.

Authorities remain investigating the incident for possible linkages to broader security threats, while the city’s officials urged calm and advised visitors to report any suspicious activity.
