French President Emmanuel Macron has voiced concerns over U.S. President Donald Trump's approach to the ongoing war in Iran, emphasizing the need for a serious and consistent strategy. Responding to Trump's seemingly contradictory remarks on the conflict, Macron stated, This is not a show. We are talking about war and peace and the lives of men and women.

Macron made the comments during a press conference in South Korea, highlighting the gravity of the situation and criticizing the frequent changes in Trump’s rhetoric. He suggested that rather than making daily statements that contradict previous ones, leaders should allow time for reflection and calm. When you want to be serious, you don't say every day the opposite of what you said the day before, he explained.

His remarks come at a time when the U.S.-led coalition's strategy in the region has been under scrutiny. The war in Iran entered its second month, while European nations, including France, have supported some U.S. operations but are cautious of becoming further involved.

In addition to addressing the war, Macron touched upon Trump’s recent comments regarding NATO, asserting the importance of trust within alliances. Alliances like NATO are valuable because of what is unspoken – meaning the trust behind them, Macron remarked.

Macron also criticized Trump’s offensive remarks against France and his personal attacks, particularly regarding the French president's marriage, calling such comments neither elegant nor up to standard. He condemned the lack of respect shown and reinforced the need for dignified discourse in international relations.

As discussions surrounding the military operations continue, Macron stresses that dialogue and thoughtful strategies are crucial to address international security challenges.
