On Wednesday, 5 November 2026, the Afghan capital opened a four‑day agriculture and livestock exhibition, aimed at empowering farmers and livestock breeders across the country, the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock said.

The event, held at a venue in Kabul, drew farmers, livestock breeders and local entrepreneurs from across Afghanistan who set up booths to display their products to visitors, including food producers, feed manufacturers and livestock trainees.

Minister Mawlawi Ataullah Omari spoke at the inauguration ceremony, noting the country’s abundant water resources, fertile soil, favorable climate and sizeable human resources. He described the fair as an important platform for showcasing agricultural achievements, identifying existing capacities and forging stronger links among investors, traders, farmers and livestock producers.

According to a ministry statement, the exhibition seeks to improve market access for agricultural and livestock goods, boost domestic production, reduce dependence on imports, expand exports and enhance coordination between producers and the private sector.

Officials said the event forms part of a wider series of trade initiatives in the capital. A week earlier, Afghanistan’s first specialized mining exhibition opened in Kabul, featuring more than 140 booths where companies showcased precious and semi‑precious stones, including emeralds, rubies and lapis lazuli.
