In brief

On November 1, 2026 in Seoul, HD Hyundai Robotics revealed a partnership with Palantir Technologies to develop physical AI solutions for industrial settings. The collaboration seeks to integrate Palantir’s AI platform with Hyundai’s robotics systems, redefining engineers’ oversight functions. The deal was highlighted during Palantir’s “Sovereignty Bootcamp” in New York where Hyundai’s CTO showcased the company’s strategy and Palantir’s chief revenue officer outlined the intended impact.

On 1 November 2026, HD Hyundai Robotics, a robotics solutions unit of South Korea's HD Hyundai conglomerate, announced a partnership with U.S.-based Palantir Technologies to develop physical artificial‑intelligence (AI) solutions for industrial sites, the company said in a press release in Seoul.

The announcement comes after HD Hyundai Robotics’ chief technology officer, Ahn Seong‑hwan, recently attended Palantir’s “Sovereignty Bootcamp” in New York, an event focused on strengthening AI‑driven business competitiveness while safeguarding core corporate data and business information. Ahn presented the company’s strategy for deploying physical AI and its vision for future development, outlining how the company will cooperate with Palantir on new solutions.

"We started with work that can deliver measurable impact in the short term, and plan to support the creation of new business opportunities by connecting HD Hyundai Robotics’ robots to Palantir AI platform, helping translate HD Hyundai Robotics’ experience into an accelerating competitive advantage," Palantir chief revenue officer Ryan Taylor said during the briefing.

The partnership aims to transform workplace operations through the adoption of physical AI. By integrating Palantir’s AI platform with HD Hyundai Robotics’ existing robotics systems, the two companies intend to provide data‑driven insights that can help industrial sites manage assets, optimize maintenance schedules, and improve safety protocols.

Strategic Collaboration

According to the press release, the collaboration will focus on developing solutions that allow autonomous robots to learn from real‑time sensor data processed by Palantir’s AI engine. Engineers would then oversee these systems rather than manually controlling each robot, meaning the role of human workers is expected to shift toward monitoring, troubleshooting and data analysis.

Both companies said the project will not only produce immediate operational gains but also open the door to new revenue streams. The combination of Hyundai’s on‑the‑ground robotics expertise with Palantir’s advanced data‑analytic platform is positioned to accelerate the adoption of AI in manufacturing, construction and shipping—industries where HD Hyundai already holds a strong presence.

While the partnership has not yet disclosed specific product roadmaps or timelines, the companies emphasized the long‑term objective of redefining engineering roles in industrial settings. By automating routine tasks and providing actionable insights through AI, engineers can move from hands‑on execution to strategy and oversight, the firms said.

With the launch of this partnership, HD Hyundai Robotics and Palantir aim to set a new standard for how physical AI can be integrated into traditional industrial environments, marking a significant step toward smarter, safer, and more efficient workplaces.
