Acting Governor Alexander Shuvaev announced that Ukrainian missile strikes overnight in the Belgorod region killed six people and injured four, including a 14‑year‑old child.

The strikes took place in the village of Koloskovo, in the Valuysky district that borders Ukraine, where a building was set on fire and a car was damaged. Shuvaev said the injured child was taken to hospital, while two other people received medical treatment.

These attacks follow a “largest‑scale” bombing campaign launched by Ukraine earlier this year, which killed at least seven people. In the same hour, Russian attacks on Ukraine killed a further seven and wounded more than 39.

Moscow has stepped up missile sorties across Ukraine over the past weeks, prompting Kyiv to increase drone strikes deep inside Russian territory. Both sides continue to accuse each other of deliberately targeting civilian areas, a claim that has intensified concerns about rising casualties on both sides.
